6A February 5, 2004 For the Record The Cuba Free Press & Obituaries Lila Lee Edging Lila Lee Edging nee Morris of Bourbon, Missouri was born on December 12, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Roy Morris and Alpha Fortune Morris and passed away on January 29, 2004 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 17 days. On October 24, 1946 Lila was united in Holy Union to John Edging. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her par- ents, on e daughter Teletha Ann Julian and one sister, Laverne Morris. Lila was baptized in the Church of Christ, Sullivan, Missouri in 2002. Her favorite flowers were the wildflowers. When she was a child her father used to stop on the way home from work and pick wildflow- ers to bring home to her mother and his chil- dren. Lila loved talking on the phone She never met a stranger. She was dedicated to the Lord and loved reading her Bible scriptures. In the past she enjoyed volunteering at the hospital. She was loved by many people and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving daughter Cathy Neddemeyer and husband Paul; granddaughter Pamela Lee; a grandson, James Julian, who was raised like her own son; two brothers, Larry Morris and wife Johanna and Roy Morris and wife Bonnie; four great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Lila Lee Edging nee Morris was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 11 a.m. with minister Ken McDaniels officiating. Interment was in the old Highgate Cemetery, St. James, Missouri. All arrangements under the direction of Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Joseph Patrick Fagan Joseph Patrick Fagan, of Eureka, was born Friday, May 13, 1949 to Ida and the late Charles Fagan. He passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at the age of 54 years 8 months and 8 days. Left to mourn are his wife Linda Fagan, his mother Ida Fagan, a son Kevin William Fagan andspecial friend Lindsy "Charlie" Trottier, father and mother-in-law Frank and Norma Kurz, brother Robert and Judy Fagan, John and Bernadette Fagan, Mary and Dan Daigle; brother-in-law David Kurz, Steve and Karen Kurz, Frank and Rosemary Kurz, John and Cheryl Kurz, Tom and Nora Kurz. Mr. Fagan was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 35 years and was customer service manager in St. Louis. He also loved the Missouri outdoors and for 23 years he was co-owner of Fagan's Canoe and RaR Rental near Steelville. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, January 24 at Kutis Arleen Chapel in Affton, Missouri. The funeral service was at 3 p.m. at the Kutis Chapel in AiRon, Missouri. Cremation followed the final disposition. Local notification was under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville. William Fred Hopwood William Fred Hopwood of Bourbon, Missouri was born on May 19, 1927 near Bourbon, Missouri to the union of Frank Hopwood and Bertha Enke Hopwood and passed away on January 26, 2004 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 7 days. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Henry, Charlie, Lawrence, Herbert, Arthur and Raymond Hopwood and three sisters, Martha Chapman, Anna McGruder and Aurretta Hopwood. On October 20, 1951 Fred was united in marriage to Dorothy Ray at Bourbon, Missouri. Three sons, Eugene, Rick and Russell and three daughters, Brenda, Sharon and Karen were born to this union. They have been happi- ly married for 52 years. On March 19, 1952 Fred was inducted into the United States Marine Corps and was hon- orably discharged on March 18, 1954. Fred was employed with Western Auto for over 20 years. He also partnered in business with his oldest son, Eugene. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working and especially garden- inF. These who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife, Dorothy Hopwood; threetsous, Eugene Hopwood and wife Sandy, Rick Hopwood and Russell Hopwood and wife Lisa; three daughters, Brenda Courtouise and husband Lonnie, Sharon Hopwood and Karen Flowers and husband Arnold; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Fred was a loving, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. William Fred Hopwoed was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hugh Stogsdill officiating. Pallbearers were Gene Hopwood, Jr., Tim Hopwood, Lonnie Courtouise, Jr., Sean Flowers, Christopher Courtouise and Michdel Bunnet. Interment Was in the Delhi Cem..tery, Cuba, Missouri. He was released on bond. 01/29/04 Joshua L. Scheible, 26, New Haven, was arrested on a warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the origi- nal charge of non-support. Carter, 37, Bonne Terre, was arrested on warrants for the charges of endangering the welfare of a child, property damage second degree, assault on a law enforcement officer third degree and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. He remains in custody. 01/29/04 Christopher R. Grant, 21, Sullivan, was arrested on a warrant for the charge of forgery. He was released on bond. 01/29/04 Stan L. Prince, 42, Bourbon, was arrested on a warrant for the charge of theft/stealing. He remains in custody. 01/30/04 Gary D. Sampson, Jr., 17, Sullivan, was arrested on a Sullivan Municipal war- rant for the charge of failure to pay costs. He was released on bond. 01/30/04 Rebecca A. Monzyk, 33, Cuba, was arrested on a Franklin County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of failure to display plates. She was released on bond. 01/30/04 Melissa A. A war- rant was issued and he remains in custody. 02/01/04 Scott B. Lorenz, 19, Cuba, was arrested on war- rants for the charges of driving while revoked (four warrants), speeding, failure to register a motor vehicle, driving while suspended, possession of mari- juana, possession of drug para- phernalia and possession of a ,controlled substance except thirty-five grams of marijuana.
