6A June 12, 2003 / Pauline Glasgow For the Obituaries Pauline Glasgow nee Warbritton of Cuba, Missouri was born December 28, 1911 in Greenway, Arkansas to the late William and Mary nee Hollis Warbritton, and passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2003 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 91 years 5 months 3 days. In 1930 Pauline was united in marriage to Ruby Glasgow at Popular Bluff, Missouri. One daughter, Betty, and one son, William Joseph, were born to this union. They enjoyed over 70 years together. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her devoted husband Ruby Glasgow of the home in Cuba, Missouri; her daughter Betty Bourne and husband Larry; her son William Joseph Glasgow and wife June; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Pauline was a loving wife, mother, grand- mother, great grandmother, great great grand- mother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Pauline Glasgow was in state at the Britton Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating. Interment was in the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 2 p.m. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. ;Orville Dempsey Hedrick Orville D. Hedrick was born Friday, March 22, 1929, at Boss, Missouri, a son of the late Joseph Seath Hedrick and Cora Belle Hedrick (nee Kathcart). He entered eternal rest Friday, May 30, 2003, at Stonecrest Healthcare, Viburnum, Missouri, at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 8 days. Orville was united in marriage to Edith Irene Kriegbaum in 1960. Six sons and four daugh- ters were born to this union. Edith preceded Orville in death, May 19, 2003. Also preceding him in death were two sons, Orvin and Clifford Hedrick. Among those who remain to mourn his pass- ing are four daughters, Eva Dixon of Paysen, Arizona, Sue Durrant and husband Mark, Barbara Sturdevant and husband Matt all of Hancock, Wisconsin, Linda Hayes and husband Herbert of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. Four sons, Frank Hedrick and wife Serafma of Viburnum, Missouri, Wayne Hedrick and Ronnie Hedrick, both of Hancock, Wisconsin, Robert Hedrick of Bonne Terre, Missouri. Two sisters, Bonnie Bohann of Piedmont, Missouri, and Ruby Edith Yarbough of Arizona; two brothers, Johnny Hedrick of Mineral Point, Missouri and Thomas Hedrick of Illinois; 15 grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Orville Dempsey Hedrick lay in state after 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 in the Britton Chapel with Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Committal prayers and interment were in Boss Cemetery, Boss, Missouri. Serving as pall- bearers were Mark Durrant, Dennis Ray Hedrick, Steve Hedrick, Waylon R. Hedrick, Cecil S. err, and Darrell Pryor. Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Lida H. Hendrix Lida H. Hendrix nee Martin was born February 21, 1912 in Cherryville, Missouri to the late William Madison Martin and Mary Record The Cuba Free Press Elizabeth Wisdom and departed this life May 23, 2003 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 91 years 3 months and 2 days. Lida attended school through eighth grade c Cherryville, Missouri. She lived on the family farm and was responsible for most of the cook- ing from the age of 15 through 25 at which time she married and later graduated high school in Dillard, Missouri where her husband Arthur taught. Lida married Arthur William Hendrix on August 11, 1937 in St. Charles, Missouri and to this union three children were born. She and Arthur lived at Butts, Missouri where he taught.school, later moving to Dillard, Missouri, and then to St. Louis, Missouri. She was proud of the fact that she took a few college courses while Arthur earned his degree. Lida was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She loved providing for her family, taking care of their home, and doing yard work. She enjoyed drawing, working word search puzzles and sewing. Lida accepted the Lord early in life and she and Arthur were very active in church through- out their lives. They were members of Tower Grove Baptist Church for approximately 40 years. She taught Sunday school, Training Union, worked in Bible Schools, sang in the Choir, and was at church every time the church doors were open. Lida lived a very full life; she enjoyed traveling with her family. She amazed most people in that she never looked or acted her age. She was doing things at 90 that many people couldn't or wouldn't- attempt to do in their 70s. Lida was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, sisters Orene Eaton and hus- band John, Pearl Scott and husband Perry, brothers Kenneth and wife Delma Martin, and Trenton and Bessie Martin, half sisters Virgie Fleta, Marjorie Stafford House, Beulah Martin, Nora Martin, and Edith Cummins, brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law Gene Lovan, Raymond Cuba Municipal Court Docket Warrant to be issued. Two sisters Daphne Gahr of Salem, Missouri, Juanita Morgan and huband Marrlan of Bourbon, Missouri; one brother Dewayne Martin and wife Lena of Cuba, Missouri; broth- er-in-law and sisters-in-law Artie Lovan of Kirkwood, Missouri, Jewel Hendrix and wife Gladine of Farmington, Missouri, and Ruth Hendrix of Camdenton, Missouri; nieces; nephews, Cousins and friends all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Lida Martin Hendrix. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 27, 2003 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Chapel in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Delmar B. Hutson and Rev. Lynn Stroup officiating. Pallbearers were Jerry Martin, Lawrence Lovan, Richard Lovan, Bill Gahr, Leon Morgan and Treff Earney. Music selections were "It is no secret what God can do', "Whispering Hope', and "Sheltered in the arms of God  sang by Paul K. Hutson and accompanied by Helen Platter on piano. Burial was in the Moutray Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri. All arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. This is two more than May, 2002. The total fatalities for 2003 is twenty- one compared to sixteen for the same time period as last year. Captain Randy L. Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol recorded four accidents in Crawford County from June 2 to June 8. An accident occurred on June 2 on the south outer road 2 miles east of Cuba at 2:23 a.m. An eastbound 1987 Ford, driven by Austin Loden, 26, of Leasburg, skidded off the left side of the roadway at a high rate of speed. The Ford overturned several times and came to rest on its top facing east. Loden was not wearing his seatbelt and refused treatment at the scene. A summons was issued to Loden for failure to drive on the right half of the road and no proof of insurance. An accident occurred on June 4 at 2:05 a.m. 6 miles north of Viburnum on Rt. Y. A southbound 1999 Oldsmobile, driven by Jonathan Abney, 22, of Boss, attempted to pass a south- bound 1985 Coachman RV, driven by Donald Gill, 55, of Missouri State Highway Patrol Report Viburnum. Abney's Oldsmobile clipped the rear bumper of the RV, then traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, then traveled the left side of the roadway, overturning sev- eral times. The Oldsmobile came to rest on its top. Abney was taken to Salem Hospital, then airlifted to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Abney was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt. There was minimal damage to the RV and total damage to the Oldsmobile. An accident occurred on June 6 at 8:20 p.m. 9 miles north of Cuba on Rt. CC. A westbound 1985 Dodge, driven by Carrie Dixon, 18, of Cuba, failed to negotiate a right hand curve, and slid off the left side of the roadway. The Dodge struck a road- sign, a tree and a fence, before coming to restoffthe south side of the roadway. Dixon was transported to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis by Air Evac Helicopter. It is unknown whether or not she was wearing a seatbelt. Malachi Dildine, 2, and Makayla Dildine, 2, Kegan Long, 1, all of Cuba, were transported by private vehicle to St. Louis Children's Hospital. Their injuries were minimal and they were all wearing seatbelts. An accident occurred .on Cave Road 7 miles south of Leasburg on June 8 at 8:45 p.m. An eastbound 1990 Saab, driven by Sean Moynihan, 20, of St. Louis, traveled offthe left side of the roadway and over- turned. The Saab came to rest on its wheels. Moynihan was cited for DWI, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and for not wearing a seatbelt. Moynihan refused treatment at the scene.
